Thanks, Eliza. In complete agreement. And here in the USA, we still allow hand-held mobiles whilst driving in some states, like mine Massachusetts.

I also find it bad manners to answer a phone or text when one is in the company of others. I wrote about this on my blog last August . It's also becoming a sfaety issue when one is not in a car; there was a young woman here in New England who was walking along a roadway and was struck by a car. She was texting on her phone and not paying attention.
