Earlier this year, the Kent Messenger newspaper reported that the Archbishop of Canterbury joined the local Thanet Greek community on January 10th for their annual ceremony of prayer for the well-being of the life in the sea to ensure good fishing harvests. On the 12th January a huge number of dead velvet crabs were found washed up on the sea-shore near Margate.
It's hard to say whether this counts as a successful or unsuccessful blessing, but road users in Lincolnshire may not be reassured.
