I refuse to use any texting because of the cost
My daughters are on contracts that make texting cheaper. Even on PAYG I get free weekend texts if I top up during the week.

One of the funniest things that I have seen was three teenage girls sitting opposite on a train. After 3 minutes in a tunnel they all had their phones out frantically checking to see if there had been any texts.
