thats understandable steve as you are not christian.no doubt some believers have difficulty accepting it.
im not a catholic and i dont know if you represent their teaching fairly/accurately.i do however believe that salvation only comes through Christ and is for those who repent and believe,but includes infants and any others not reaching a state of accountability.
as for all those good people:no one makes the grade but God saves the humble repentant believers.
