1 1/3 cups flour 1 teaspoon baking powder (5 ml) 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup butter (250 ml) 1 cup Fry's cocoa (or other 'Dutch' style) 2 cups white sugar 4 eggs, slightly beaten 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla Optional- 1 cup chopped nuts
Stir together flour, baking powder, salt in small bowl. Melt butter in saucepan; Remove from heat and stir in cocoa (sift if clumped) Blend in sugar, eggs, vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients and nuts.
Pour batter into greased 9 x 13 x 2 inch pan. Bake in pre-heated 350 F (180 C) oven for 30-35 minutes or until done. Cool and enjoy. Slightly modified from recipe on container of Fry's Cocoa. Excellent recipe. Fry's is unsweetened.
