The first time we had the Battlefield Band at the Chocolate Church I went with two friends. One of them was into heavy metal rock & roll and the other wasn't much into music. The latter friend was impressed but not enough to pursue it. The rocker bought two CD's and came back the followng year. The band is now an annual event at the Chocolate Church.
The following year I dragged my kids off to see the band. They went to please their dreary old Dad and listen to the boring old music. They came out with stars in their eyes and CD's clutched in their hot little fists. And every time they looked at the picture of wee Johnny McCusker they seemed to go into some kind of deep breathing exercizes.
This year my older daughter is in college and cursing the fact that she couldn't make it to the show. I could only take my younger daughter with me. she still loves the band and still seems to have the same reaction to wee Johnny.
