Heard the news this morning. To all Monday Night Football fans of the Golden Era of Cosell, Frank Gifford, and Meredith, this is sad news indeed. I suppose some of us should sing "Turn out the lights, the party's over." His Texas slant, humor, and insights into the game more or less defined the role of Color Commentator for all who came after. A heck of a QB in his day, too.
