Well they tell me the dryer is coming tomorrow, and the freezer's now due Thursday.
I put up a bathroom cabinet today, but drilling 2 holes turned into 5 due to the disintegration of the plater round the holes. The last one I drilled only went in about three quarters of an inch then hit rock. I've managed to get a heavy duty screw into it, but I'm waiting for the whole shebang to drop off the wall, although it seems quite firm just now. Unfortunately it's now lower than I wanted it.

I'm still waiting to hear back from the conservation officer.
The deeds arrived today, but they only go back to 1923, when the estate sold the freehold. There is mention of a transfer of ownership in 1875, after a marriage, but that was within the landed gentry. it does seem to have changed hands quite a few times, and I have a list of previous owners since 1923. I am still assuming a date of about 1820 for the property.

My neck's aching now, so I'm going to chill out for the rest of the evening with a glass of cider.
