The very first time I walked into "The Locker Room" in Holyoke, with my friend Eric (who would later be part owner of the "Parting Glass Pub"), Butch & Maeve were playing.

It was my first exposure to Irish folk music. I was a bartender at another joint in Holyoke at the time, and I was just stunned at how everyone at the LR was *so* into the music. Clapping, singing, blah, blah.

Then Butch launched into "Walking the Streets in the Rain", and I turned to Eric and said "Holy - can this guy sing!!".

Went to see them many times after that. Every night was a ton of fun. They were great entertainers. I miss 'em.
