Well Gawd knows where they've been gritting - certainly not in our area. Not a single grain of grit anywhere, and the roads are like ice-rinks. It was -15 degrees Celsius this morning.

There's a rumour going round that all our local guys and their grit were re-deployed to Lincoln when the snow came last week, to clear the streets for the Christmas Market (which was cancelled - duh!!). Result - footpaths too dangerous to walk on, even now, and pedestrians all over the roads.
