The trick is to imagine that your hand and foot are connected by two meshing bevel gears.
The opposite rotation then seems perfectly logical and your muscles will co-operate.
The same mechanical connection trick works with the rubbing your tummy and patting your head- except this time you think of a crank and con rod connecting your two hands.
Easy!
