Lived for a time in Buffalo NY. Still dream of the hotdogs they sold there as "Texas Hots." The key was the basic ingredients, dogs and buns. There were several local makers of dogs and buns and the competition was fierce. I remember preferring Sahlens rolls but I cannot remember which dog brand I liked. I know for sure it was not a national brand. Buffalo weiners, no matter what the brand, left all national products in the dust. Flavor and texture to die for.
