Marymac90, Ashokan Farewell is my favorite, too. I had an injury and was unable to play for a couple of years. That piece was my "physical therapy"... worked on every day for months and the beauty of it helped me to continue through a slow & painful process. Though they don't know me, Jay and Molly wrote me a wonderful letter of encouragement. Whenever I'm discouraged, I listen to my little recording and it reminds me: "Keep going. You can do it." Besides the lovely melody and harmonies that were always special to me before, now there's a whole other level of appreciation.
It made me happy to see your post.
I do agree with the point that was made about overplaying something until it starts to lose its appeal, but with this particular one, I don't think that will ever happen for me.
