When Leonard first hit the scene I was with a roommate who would put all the lights out , light candles and listen to Leonard and some other fellow who read poetry with music in the background. I had to call the ambulance twice because of his antics (drugs) while listening.
It was not until I had the opportunity to book Leonard and meet him that i started to appreciate what a gem of an artist he was(is). Mr Cohen went through much of what most of us did. Some more than others, but it was the time and few escaped it. Leonard was no different.
I have followed him through the years and in my opinion he has just got better and better as the years have flown.
