In 1966, Spaw's high school gymnasium exploded, injuring several people. The cause was never determined, but the detonation occurred approximately 1 1/2 hours after lunch, which was on that day a potent blend of spaghetti-os, cauliflower, and refried beans, with carrot shards suspended in lime jello for dessert.
