Note that chapter 20-21 tell a story very similar to the Cherry Tree Carol; but the tree in question here is a palm, and the child has already been born.

The story is also found in medieval iconography - there's a very fine example in the Walker Gallery in Liverpool if anyone's passing. Can't say for sure which one it is, but you'll find it in room 1!
