Indeed it was, and look who is the first to slide past the point with another snide comment about schools.

The Labourites want as usual to have it both ways. The Tories warned Brown, and called for more regulation, but they are still accused of favouring the rich and the big corporations.

Now if I were ever inclined to indulge in a little class bigotry, I would first do my homework and try to develop a moderately consistent condemnation.

When Tony Blair and William Hague stood opposite one another, it was Blair who was the dreaded "public schoolboy", and Haig who got his education at a local "Comprehensive" school.

The lefties didn't seem to have much to say about that.

Go figure.
