I've decided to go down to Yorkshire a day early, so now I only have tomorrow to blitz through this place prior to it being attacked by Freya next Monday.

I got the washing done today, but it's been a bit of a subdued day - my glands are a bit swollen, and I'm distinctly viral, plus they eventually held Ian's inquest this morning. A "narrative" verdict was recorded: the coroner read out the findings of the enquiry which, according to my lawyer, was a catalogue of disasters on the part of the coal company. There was no "accidental death" or "misadventure" verdict given, and it was very much obvious what had happened. He has to remain impartial, however, and also has no real authority in another country.

The cat's going to the cattery early Thursday morning, and I am going to get red lowlights put in my hair prior to braving the winter weather down the A1 again.
