Yes, I'd thought it would be "Augustan", but didn't know whom to choose among Goldsmith or Dryden or Thomson or even Johnson, and it turns out to be Pope! Despite all the pose as thon "Heav'n taught Ploughman", RB knew as much of "polite" Poetry as any of them; and not only knew, but made, a great deal of other material, "not quite so genteel".
