We just finished opening our presents. In the box from our son, with a note that he "couldn't resist," was a small tin can from Heinz, labeled "Spotted Dick."

To me, this would be a symptom of a probably loathsome disease, but I am given to understand that in Britain, it's food.

So: Should we eat it?
