Not folk, but these recent reissues will be of interest to some 'Catters. I draw attention to them as such things have a habit of slipping through the cracks and disappearing unnoticed.

Adelphi/Genes have reissued 2 gems from the early Adelphi catalogue:

Paul Geremia 'Hard Luck Rockin' Chair' Adelphi/Genes
Holy Modal Rounders 'Last Round'Adelphi/Genes

The Rounders is the full catastrophe, with Reisch, Remaily et alia as well as Weber and Stampfel.

Lucky Dog have reissued a great, but almost forgotten, Bill Joe Shaver Columbia album:

Billy Joe Shaver 'Salt of the Earth' Lucky Dog

This may have been the first album on which Billy Joe was helped out with some great electric guitar from his son Eddy Shaver. It has some beaut Shaver songs such as 'Sweet Mama', 'Hill Country Love Song' and 'Street Walkin' Woman'.

Lucky Dog have also released a compilation of The O'Kanes (Jamie O'Hara and Kieran Kane). It's compiled mostly from two excellent, but long gone, albums - 'The O'Kanes' and 'Tired of the Runnin''. The only negative is that it's only 10 tracks, when they could have put both albums in their entirety on the CD. There's only one track overlap with the only O'Kanes CD 'Imagine That' - 'This Ain't Love'.

The O'Kanes 'The Only Years' Lucky Dog

Kieran Kane is still active with his Dead Reckoning label, but what has happened to Jamie O'Hara? After one excellent post-O'Kanes album, 'Rise Above It', he seems to have disappeared. Artists that I like have an unfortunate habit of doing this.
