Well, it looks as though snow has blanketed most of the foo-thills region around Seattle today with 1-4 inches of the wet sloppy stuff. After driving for an hour to try to make it downtown to play on the street at the Market and only managing to get about half way there, creeping along at no miles an hour, I decided to turn around and head back home. There were lots of cars in ditches, on the sides of the roads, in the middle of the roads, stuck on hills...use your imagination. I made it back without an incident but I'm a rather shrewd driver, with a vast amount of experience exploring back roads and side streets via my adventures seeking out garage sales in the suburban jungle.

I doubt this weekend will be a good one to be exploring Seattle or any of the outlying neighborhoods. All of this wet stuff is going to freeze over before tomorrow and then the fun will really begin. Temps won't easily find their way above freezing and ice being what it is, I expect even worse conditions tomorrow for anyone brave enough to drive in the Seattle area.

However, say you're the adventurous type, or a thrill seeker personality and you have access to one of the beefier mountain climbing SUVs, with spiked tires, chains, AWD and a spirit of determination to match. Well, then I'd recommend my New Year's Eve gig at this cozy little place in Everett call Old Strokers. It's a cafe located on the main east/west downtown street, at 2816 Hewitt Ave. The day before yesterday, I was informed that there were 4 tickets still available for this dinner/show event.

The cafe is largely supported by some very fine folks, who are members of two different vintage motorcycle clubs. My last two shows there sold out, weeks in advance, at $30 a ticket. Tickets for this show are $60. Give Randy a call at (425) 252-5640, if you think you're brave enough to face the elements.

You'll be served a very special dinner, with a side of my Folk/Blues to ring in the new year.
