Subject: Song competition Rchstr Sweeps Fest 2011
Friday 29th April is the day of the Royal Wedding and to celebrate this, Rochester Sweeps Festival has a special competition - Songs of Love, Royalty and Weddings.

You can register for a ten minute spot to perform an original or traditional song in the spirit of the occasion.

A panel of three judges will select the best performer in their opinion who will win a prize of a night for two in the honeymoon suite, a romantic dinner for two and a bottle of champagne at the Gordon Hotel.

It will be in the Gordon House Hotel Marquee between 7-11pm on Friday 29th April and PA will be provided. The ten minute spot must include set up time, tuning, intro and the piece to be judged.

Please send an email to register to doug.hudson(at)sky.com

And I will add that Doug's 60s/70s folk band Tundra was well thought of and wrote a number of songs that were strongly redolent of the tradition. Now of course he plays with the Hot Rats.
