A few months back I saw Jerry Dammers' Spatial AKA Orchestra on Jools Holland and was suitably depressed by their vapid rendition of - I think it was Where Pathways Meet from Lanquidity. We live in the age of increasingly slick muso blandness, but of late I feel too old to work up much indignation over it (especially on a folk forum where such slickness is too often embraced as musicianship) though I often wonder if people can hear the difference between the real and the spurious - or even if it matters.

Time for a New Year's resolution or two maybe?
