Richard I agree with you about Toots, it was great to see him at last. I have seen many of the others like Prince Buster, Desmond Dekker, The Ethiopians, Skatalites etc. along with Rico and have attempted to try to get to see Toots many times without success, in the past the band has cancelled gigs in Bristol many times so it was a treat for me to see him at last. It was a shame about the backing band however not as tight as a Reggae band should be. But if the audience there were half sozzled then perhaps they didn't notice.

I have a sampler CD with a track from Bellowhead which I was already quite impressed with and was keen to hear more from them but the problem there is that as with Toots it is a band for letting your hair down to in a club or hall rather than watching from a chair with a glass in hand.

Kylie was wheeled out again for her annual nasal whine. Alison I was a little bit disappointed with but I gave her the benefit of the doubt thinking that she might have been getting over a cold or flu, it is possible at this time of year. Wanda Jackson, was she from the 50s? It would be interesting to find some material from back when she was younger if any exists. I would imagine she once had a voice similar to Brenda Lee back then but not as successful? Rumer sounded promising but would like to hear a bit more of her in the future.

The show itself is getting pretty samey as the years go by. It's as if they have been recorded back to back sometimes, although this time we were spared Al Murray sat in the audience constantly repeating 'Hootenannay' over and over again two years in a row!

Roger Daltry, no comment. Vampire weekend zzzzzzz........
