OT but re the laptop. I found some instructions for my Fujitsu Seimens Amilo Li1705 on the Internet. (Remove battery to gain access to 3 screws, unclip a top panel and keyboard can be lifted to remove ribbon cable).   I found a web site selling replacement keyboards for £25 (plus I paid about £5 for next day recorded delivery).

It took me about 10 minutes to replace the keyboard. I thought it was going to be a lot more complicated and expensive than it turned out to be.
