He was a man deserving of anyone's respect. Perhaps the most fitting lesson we can learn from him is to do our very best to make sure that we do not have to ask so much of a man again. The life I enjoy now would be impossible without the sacrifice made by him and the young men around him all those years ago. He and his ilk have my respect and gratitude forever.
