I sat down to mend something yesterday and the simple act of cutting a bit of fabric and sewing the backing to mend the dog's jacket was a huge reminder of how little time I've spent sewing lately, and how much I enjoy it. And this time of year is perfect for sewing.

The kitchen is clean and the counter is clear. The paper is beginning to make its way to the recycle bag, and I took a bag out to the trash. I swept the bathroom floor to get dog hair and it still seems to be covered with dog hair, so I haven't made progress on all fronts.

Very healthy dinner tonight, chicken and roasted vegetables and a couple of clementines (nectarines) for dessert. The wine probably added more calories than I needed, but it was nice sipping during the evening.

I've set up the bedding plant kit to get seeds started for spring. Tomorrow I'll fill the flat with dirt and make sure I get a good mix of plants started. I think it will warm enough this weekend that I can dig in a couple of areas where I want to turn over the soil before putting out onions and potatoes.

Long weekend, I hope we can get something accomplished, each of us!
