Wow, Dorothy! That's some journey you've had to get where you are now!

I was brought up with antiques, and love them, but my last move forced me to get rid of a lot over a couple of years. The funny thing is, now I am in a "proper" antique house, I am happy to furnish it with modern stuff, and apart from a couple of 19th century bidets which I use as little tables, and a few Victorian chairs, the rest is ornamental. I suppose the smaller size of the house also has something to do with this.

Well, at the end of last week I decluttered the filing cabinet and shredded a load of stuff before reorganising the files and getting the newer stuff stowed away at last. I moved some old meeting minutes and other files onto a data pen and cleared some room on the laptop. Today the joiner came and refitted shelves into the cupboard in the little room off my bedroom, which has meant another load of books and stuff is off the floor and away.

I've also got a carpet cleaning machine coming this week, as it has been costing me a fortune in spray cleaners, due to the mixing of beige nylon carpets with open coal fires and high traffic areas. My last house had wool carpets (also beige), and they were much easier to keep clean.
When I can get hold of Ernie at the stove shop, I'm going to see if I can get the installation of a multifuel stove lined up. He's got one I like the look of.

Weight-wise, I've slipped back again: they had chocolate digestives on off at the co-op...it also didn't help that I have spent most of today sprawled on the sofa reading some chick-lit that I got at the supermarket.
