"Treadmill song" learned from Steeleye Span was my first attempt in December 1982, Bridgwater Folk Club. I had made a concious decision to turn myself into an extrovert and this was my first try at standing up at the front.
There was a stool there to sit on if you wanted. I stood behind it so that my trembling knees would not be visible!
I had also started on the Anglo so my other item was a set of three tunes, starting withthte inevitable "Winster Gallop".
It went OK and I performed a different song each week there for more than a year without repetition. Wish I could learn things that fast nowadays!
