Another Mudcatter (can't remember who now) put us all onto a wonderful search engine called Web Ferret. I haven't used another service since. Do a forum search on ferret and you should be able to track down our benefactor.

Web Ferret submits your search to all the major search engines all at the same time. Then it posts links in the order they are returned individually by the engines. You pick up Google, AltaVista, Yahoo, Metacrawler, everything. What's more, because the search is actually managed by big servers at FerretSoft, you get results much faster than any of the individual engines can provide to you directly.

Take my word for it, we got a great tip with that one.
