There was no suggestion that one can influence the past. Time seems to be sensed by some people as a now, with elements of seeing a "pre-now". You are selecting time lines with your choices in every nanosecond of the approximate now.

Where this idea runs into confusion is how do we agree upon a single timeline among billions of people at once. How does a consensus occur. Perhpas taking the whole is like the universe at large which does not fall prey to the quantum quirkiness of a single particle or a single person.
