Well, well, well....seems he is doing much better! He did four hours on the trach mask, for his first time which met their goal. He got a little anxious and muscos-ey, but the respiratory therapist was so pleased, s/he wants to speed up the weaning. Karen thinks by next week, they should be able to cap the trach. He is still extremely weak, balance is gone, and he's a bit bewildered by just how much, but Karen tells him he will work through it, it's just going to take more time, this time.

He ate REAL food, yesterday...tuna tettrazini. If he keeps that up, they will be able to take out the feeding tube.

Karen is so excited and grateful to everyone. Dan, she says, "Yes please!" to skype, after I explained it to her. I do have a card addy, now:
