Thread Name: Barbara Dickson on BBC Breakfast
Subject: RE: Barbara Dickson on BBC Breakfast
Thought Barbara Dickson was fantastic on both Women's Hour and BBC Breakfast where she had to deal with some pretty patronising and silly questions about her passion for folk music.
Fortunately, Dickson is an articulate and intelligent woman and dealt with it all very well. I was almost cheering when she told Jane Garvey (Women's Hour) "I don't care that not everybody loves it, my mission is to make more people like it.'
Never mind Donovan, its about time the folk community honoured Barbara Dickson!
One of the best singers to emerge from the folk revival of the late 60s, Dickson has done more than most to introduce mainstream audiences to traditional music and her recent collaboration with Troy Donockley has produced some of the best music of her long career
