That unfortunate incident was the first case of a Canadian shot in a crossfire in Mexico ..... thank gawd he wasn't killed.

How many Canadians have been innocent victims of yobo's having a shootout here in Canada ... more than 1 that's for certain and I recall a very tragic one about 3 years ago on Boxing day where a 15 year old girl was killed in downtown Toronto. Someone here in Saint John had their house shot up with automatic weapons a few months ago ... the perpetrators have not been caught ... a few years ago an RCMP survellance vehicle was firebombed ... the perpetrators have not been tried and convicted.

well over a million Canadians visit Mexico every year ... the proportion of murders is rather small ... and most of these cases the victims have been partially or fully involved in their own demise .... very much like the murder victims in our own countries and communities.

we live in dangerous times in a very violent world. Once we step out our door wherever we go we are putting ourselves at risk.
