There have been many reasons and excuses given for our involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan......but I've truly never heard that one before.

I asked whether you thought that these wars had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the countries in question were Muslim (or, to qualify myself slightly, predominantly Muslim). Spot the subtle difference between what I actually said and what you say I said. However, water off a duck's back, no doubt.
