Watched someone listen to the song on the cassette recorder (while we waited for the song to play once or twice) to get it right just before playing the tune (was recorder or whistle) in a blackboard session - can't remember if she then played along with it too .. it was quite a while ago, thank god - but she was 'very nervous and a learner' ...
