Subject: RE: BS: Schumer on CNN, the new Potatoe?
The two events were many years apart, with quite different components to the 'media', and the relevance of the events is hard to compare.

Quayle was already an 'item' on the competence front, and was such an easy target. Schumer might have a little slack.

Taconicus...I have debated this 'double-standard' bit with another semi-regular poster here, who even STARTS threads demanding to know why we 'liberals' did not notice or comment on some supposed flaw in a Democrat, as he is SURE we would have if a Republican had done it.
Again... the double-standard thing is a hard thing to demonstrate, and generally is pretty subjective. I don't bother with it. If I see an opponent do something stupid or hateful, I will say so...and I HAVE said so on occasions when it WAS a Democrat.
