Subject: RE: BS: Schumer on CNN, the new Potatoe?
Did Chuck Schumer even really misspeak?

If we look at the government as a tree as the analogy implies, there are three main branches of government and two branches of the legislative branch.

Schumer was talking about the separate bodies which have to deal with the debt ceiling. He was saying, not in these exact words, that there are three different branches of government that will have to deal with that issue.

I am sure that he is aware that there is a Supreme Court. He has several times votes to confirm judges. I am sure he knows that they have no bearing on the debt ceiling. I am also sure that he believes that passing the debt ceiling through each of the two separate branches of the Legislative Branch (The House and Senate) would be separate and distinct challenges.

He may not have used the exact words which John on the Sunset Coast or Taconicus would have liked but he did clearly communicate these concepts.

Its not the same in degree or frequency as talking about OBGYNS "practicing their love" on women across the country, or saying "Is our children learning" or saying "Mission Accomplished."

And their is no double standard. The current Vice President's gaffes are every bit as reported and ridiculed on the "main stream" media as Quayle's every were as were all those lies saying that Al Gore said he "invented the Internet."
