As a Man U supporter for many years I have watched Gary Neville ever since he played his first game for the club.

He has been a model pro and played at the top of his form for many seasons.

Yes he is forthright and sometimes upsets certain people but it has always been for his club or country.

He played over 600 games for Man U and I think 85 for England - testament of his ability and durability. In the last two years he has been plagued by a serious injury and has not really ever recovered from it. He has tried to return but knew that he was not performing as he would have wished.

He will no doubt take a rest and think about what he wants to do for the rest of his career. There are rumours that he is being considered to replace the disgraced Andy Gray at Sky. My guess is he will be used for his knowledge, loyality and dedication at Manchester United.

Sorry to see you go Gary but you have made the correct decision.
