Good luck Sharyn. I think you'll be happy having a second guitar; and you can always use it in an open tuning when you repair the first one.

And buy GOOD new strings for the guitar( an informative argument...ah that is....discussion on the best strings is on another thread or two or three hundred; but I suggest Martins)
