No need getting all wrapped around an axle, MgM--there's nothing strange going on. What you see is a direct point-for-point reflection of what you are sending out (in light).

PErhaps you need to define the problem again. Do you seriously think, given what you know of light and space, that the inage in a mirror should come back to you flipped across just to match your idea of handedness?
