The direct deposit from the gas royalties are now set up, and as I promised myself, it is being used only to pay bills. Ironic yet appropriate that gas royalties paid my electric bill this month! I switched companies so this was the final payment, and the rate I'm paying has now dropped from 10.1 to 8.1 per kwh.

In decluttering this week I've been clearing the counters in the kitchen of things that hadn't moved for a while, items that needed to be addressed (the non-grinding pepper mill, jars to the jar cupboard or the recycle bin, etc). All gone now.

Last night I made a batch of spaghetti sauce that was almost completely homegrown. I ran out of onions quite a while ago or it would have been a sweep. The garlic, herbs, tomatoes (chunk and sauce) and green peppers were all from my garden. I have more onions in the garden now, and despite the cold, they still seem to be growing.
