My observation is that it must be very hard work since sucking up to the Party contributors while ignoring the rest of the nation takes a whole lot of concentration on what's really important to the Party.

I'm told that you can learn to like the taste of anything you eat enough of, so it might not really be all that bad being a devoted 'publican, once you've gotten used to it. One must feel a bit sorry for the "newbies" in Congress, but they probably get enough sauce to cover the taste until they get used to it.
