My Mother also used to sing this song, and some of the lyrics I recall go this way.

My Mother, when she was almost 80, still had a powerful voice, and fortunately for me, she recorded almost 100 very old songs her father sang. She had a blotter memory even at that age and older. I had her with me until she was over 100.
