Can't speak for anything other than the sing in the Chequers but that was quite pleasant. Nice pub although the beer prices were eyewatering - and Royston was simply gobsmacked (being used to London) to be told "Sorry we've stopped doing food" when trying to get a sandwich at maybe 4 pm - er how many people other than Basil Fawlty find it too demanding to put stuff between slices of bread? But the landlady was otherwise pleasant and helpful and the stone floor made good acoustics.

Generally the locals were accommodating although by about 1730 the wall of background noise (including, at times, from some who should have known better but were simply shouting to converse barely feet from a singer or player) made singing unrewarding.

Young Ben Little just keeps improving. Some guitar-maker really ought to give him a killer guitar just to get his endorsement.

By 1800 I was faded, having stressed myself out chasing around in the morning getting bits done on a timescale. I hope the Anchor was good.
