Firefox has several 'home page substitute' addons that act as 'hot buttons'. I use Speed Dial. It has The Cat, Facebook, etc as hot links with buttons. FF also has a Search bar - I default it to Google, but you can also get dozens of addons to add extra search engines, too.

Far less distractions. Now, what are all these other people in this thread blathering on about?
