the report I read said that the King of Bahrain was invited at the personal request of the Queen. Don't know how much credence can be placed on it.

BTW, have to disagree about the monarchy oiling the machinery of trade - and about the reasons for the restoration of Charles ll - but afraid I haven't got the time to expand on it at the moment. Soz!
