Thanks for the link. I'll go and listen to it now. The song Ely mentions seems like the same subject matter of a song I recorded and sent to Mudcat Radio a couple of weeks ago.

This is a Jesse Fuller song I think he sang for his own private comfort. He deliberately slurs the words...The song is called "Where else could I go but to the Lord?". But that's not what he sings on the recording I have.

Added a verse and put in what I hear or would like to hear when he slurs.

Motor-with the cars drivers all unknown Pleasure you get from moving pure Driving along face sensational world Where else can you go but true unknown?

WHERE CAN YOU GO WHERE CAN YOU GO Seeking some solice for your soul Driving along face sensational world WHERE ELSE CAN YOU GO BUT TRUE UNKNOWN?

Life have been grand with the ones you love so near But the coffee that you get from god get ruined Cause when you feel that stifling hand of death Where else can you go but true unknown?

WHERE CAN YOU GO WHERE CAN YOU GO Seeking some solice for your soul Driving along face sensational world WHERE ELSE CAN YOU GO BUT TRUE UNKNOWN?

Moving below this old sinful world Heartache can come forty-fold And when you see we're always on our own Where else can you go but true unknown?

WHERE CAN YOU GO WHERE CAN YOU GO Seeking some solice for your soul Cause when you feel that stifling hand of death WHERE ELSE CAN YOU GO BUT TRUE UNKNOWN?
