Jeri, "toxic people" is a term that hit the popular culture some time ago (just try a Google search). I don't think anyone who has used it here means to be creating a new way of looking at people; we're all more or less influenced by the culture. But yes I agree that staying in that kind of paradigm is, itself, not-positive in and of itself.
